My journey to becoming a photographer
After getting my degree in Sports Education. I went on a road trip through The United States. The road trip in 2022 really showed me that you can capture the moment with all the digital technology we have these days. Every time something new or interesting popped up I captured the moment on my phone. From monuments to national parks. I really wanted to capture the experience so when I will look back at the pictures in 10 years I go back in time and I can relive the moment.
After coming back home in The Netherlands from the road trip I signed up for a study to learn the basics about photography. After graduating from this study I signed up for a follow up study to develop my skills even better. As of the beginning of 2025 I also graduated for this study and now have 2 degrees for photography.
Getting my degrees
In September 2022 I started with my first study for photography. Having done some small investments I went to Amsterdam to follow the study at Foto Academie Amsterdam. I learned the basics about cameras and overall photography. With a lot of practical hours we spent on the streets in Amsterdam I learned quick and so I got the basic knowledge down. This resulted in getting my first degree for photography.
After getting my first degree I went on to applying for my second study. This was at the well known academy Nederlandse Academie Voor Beeldcreatie. An academy many Dutch professional photographers have studied before. Here I got to do so many different types of photography. It gave me an insight in where my passion was in photography. After getting more hours in and getting even more knowledge about different types of photography, I was ready for my final exam.
A exhibition in Rotterdam. together with my classmates we organised an exhibition of 2 weeks with our best work. Experiencing this was amazing. With the exhibition completed I graduated for my second degree in photography.
